Decoration of booths

Exterior Decoration
The Hans Christian Andersen Christmas Market Coordinator (Eventhouse) determines the exterior decoration. You are not allowed to decorate the exterior of the booth yourself.

Interior decoration
Our aim is to give our guests a fantastic experience visiting the Christmas market and shopping in the booths. Because of this there must be an old fashioned/nostalgic Christmas atmosphere all around and this must also be reflected in both booth decoration and goods selection. Because of this there are certain demands regarding the interior decoration of the booth that booth holders must meet..

Dresscode

The Hans Christian Andersen Christmas Market has to show Christmas atmosphere like in Hans Christian Andersen’s time and all booth holders must be dressed like in the 17th century.

The dresscode is an important part of giving the Christmas market guests a feeling of being back in the day of Hans Christian Andersen.

Click here for inspiration regarding clothing. The photos show clothing from 1850.

REMEMBER: it is important to be dressed warmly under the costume. You can easily wear “modern” clothes under the costumes.
