Maritime Holiday

The County of Fyn has 1100 km of coastline, twice as much per land area as anywhere else in Denmark. Landlubbers and seadogs alike will realise that Fyn has a distinctive maritime atmosphere and can offer a lot of things to do, both on and below the waterline.

With its long coasts, numerous islands and lovely shores, the waters around Fyn are some of the most exhilarating in Denmark. There are hundreds of yachts out at sea and in the harbours during the summer. The traditional industries of fishing, shipyards and boat builders still survive, so the harbours are filled with bustle and activity.

The coastal towns are still imbued with maritime culture and history. You can see this in the very atmosphere of the ports, as well as the many attractions showing seafaring history and marine fauna. There are things for the whole family to do, and many tales of naval heroes, adventurous tars and fascinating sea creatures.
