The Latin Quarter

Discover the special Latin Quarter in the heart of Odense

Odense’s Latin Quarter is located on the west side of the city centre and spreads over the Brandts area (once a textile factory), down to the large park Munke Mose where the river flows through the city and the area of the old workers quarter, 'Vesterbro'. It's full of atmosphere and authenticity, and epitomizes the creative and quirky part of the city gathered under the open sky. An oasis without cars and larger chain stores.

Few other places in the city offer such a vibrant urban life yet stunning nature just around the corner.

The whole Brandts area has the characteristic old industrial yellow bricks architecture which helps it stand out from the surroundings and feel like a city within the city. It now houses an art museum, Brandts, and a contemporary history museum, Tidens Samling (museum of 20th century everyday life), as well as many small specialty shops in every category, cafés, bars and a restaurant with a Michelin Plate distinction, Restaurant Pasfall.

If you want to escape the busy city life for a moment, hop on one of the river boats in Munke Mose for a little cruise or you can rent a pedalo or canoe if you have more energy to burn.

The Latin Quarter is a living environment with events all year round.
