Spiseriet Deilig (Restaurant Lovely)

As part of the new H.C. Andersen Hus, you will find Spiseriet Deilig, which serves gourmet open face sandwiches focusing on quality, local ingredients tailored to the season. The name comes from one of Andersen's more unknown stories about the sculptor who marries the beautiful but not so clever Kala and discovers that what is on the inside is more important than what is on the outside.

The restaurant shows the same style and materials as the new museum, and the view through the large glass sections is part of the experience. The site is part of the Meyers chain, which also operates the nearby HC town of Meyers in the Hotel Odeon.

Find the Spiseriet Deilig
You will find Deilig on the border between the old town and the new Carl Nielsen Kvarter, right next to the light rail. It is only a short walk to the pedestrian street, and if you arrive by car, you can park in Odense P and drive almost straight to the door via entrance 15.

Close to Spiseriet Deilig, you will find the new H.C. Andersen's House, the City Museum Møntergården, Kramboden and the Concert Hall Odeon are within a few 100 meters. The old town is also always worth a stroll. On the other side you will find Odense City Hall and our beautiful old cathedral in Gothic style, where you can still see the earthly remains of Denmark's last Viking king, King Canute the Holy.
