We made this place to meet

A new, colourful artwork by Kinga Bartis transforms Brandts’ glass façade into a public art experience. Discover contemporary art on a grand scale in the heart of Odense.

Striking public art in the heart of the city
In the heart of Odense’s lively city centre, you can now experience an eye-catching artwork that merges art and street art on a large scale. The artist behind the piece is Kinga Bartis, who has transformed the glass façade between Brandts Torv and the old textile factory. Using bold colours and organic shapes, she invites us to slow down and explore a dreamlike landscape amid the city’s bustle.

A living, ever-changing artwork
Spanning almost 100 square metres and covering three storeys of the museum’s façade, the piece was created specifically for this location. It changes throughout the day depending on how the light hits the surface. Human-like figures float through a red universe where shapes and forms slowly emerge—as long as you take the time to look closely.

Art marked by nature
Kinga Bartis is known for her evocative and sensory storytelling, using nature’s own materials as her starting point. In the new work We made this place to meet, we encounter figures inspired by everything from seashells and dried leaves to stones and feathers—collected on the artist’s travels. Together, they form a landscape where the boundaries between humans and nature become blurred.

An artistic pause in your day
This installation isn’t just a piece of art—it’s a pause in your day. Here, you can stop for a moment, feel a sense of calm and let your imagination wander. Whether you’ve planned a visit to Kunstmuseum Brandts or are simply passing by, it’s hard not to be intrigued by this captivating artwork and its whimsical universe.
