The models were created in 2019 by Museum Odense in collaboration with the Swedish bronze casters Ludvig and Anders Ödman. Cast in weather-resistant bronze using the traditional cire perdue technique, the miniatures are both highly detailed and exceptionally durable. When it rains, water gathers in the river, making the models appear even more lifelike. Each building and tree was carefully sculpted in wax and assembled before casting, resulting in remarkably precise and impressive miniatures.
The models depict Odense as it appeared in 988 and 1593, clearly illustrating the city's remarkable development during this period.
