Art on the table – and room for your own ideas

During the autumn break, you can explore the new exhibition Kunst på bordet!, which takes a fresh look at still life – a classic genre in which everyday objects, flowers, food and other familiar things take centre stage. The exhibition spans 400 years of art history, from the symbolic paintings of the 17th century to playful modern and contemporary interpretations.

Throughout the holiday, there will be special guided tours of the exhibition for museum visitors of all ages. Children and adults can also take inspiration from the exhibition into the family workshop Spektaklet, where imagination and creativity are given free rein.

Last chance to see Den fantastiske bus

The autumn break is also your last chance to experience Jakob Martin Strid’s Den fantastiske bus before the exhibition closes on 18 October. Here, children and adults can get up close to more than 80 large-scale original drawings and follow the journey towards the legendary land of Balanka. A number of special guided tours will also take place during the holiday.

Families can also visit HuskMitNavn’s colourful sensory exhibition, where the usual museum rules are turned upside down. Here, art is something you can move through and experience with your whole body, as children and adults explore a large-scale installation filled with HuskMitNavn’s distinctive lines and characters. During school holidays, Kunstmuseum Brandts requires visitors to book a time slot for the sensory exhibition, and recommends booking from home.
