Autumn Holiday at the Funen Village
Enjoy a cosy autumn holiday in The Funen Village. During week 42, the whole family can take part in fun activities, discover history and share moments together in the colours of autumn.
Autumn atmosphere and togetherness
Autumn has always been a time to gather closer – and in The Funen Village you can sense history in every sight, sound and smell. During the autumn holiday, the village offers experiences for both children and adults, where traditions and hygge go hand in hand.
Together in the dark
As the days grow shorter, we light candles and share stories. You can dig up your own potatoes to take home, carve a lantern from an organic turnip, or watch as the butcher and farmers prepare a pig for the winter store. This is the autumn holiday at its most authentic.
Horse-drawn carriage ride
Climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage and enjoy a ride along the cobbled paths while the driver shares stories about the village’s history, farms and animals. A cosy experience for the whole family – and always a hit with the kids.
Cooking like in 1901
Step into the Rectory kitchen and see how food is prepared from scratch on a wood-burning stove using seasonal ingredients – just as it was done more than a century ago. Pick up tips on cooking with care for both flavour and resources, and get inspired to try old recipes at home.
Visit the blacksmith
Step inside the forge and feel the heat as the blacksmith works the glowing iron. Listen to the rhythmic hammering and watch craftsmanship performed exactly as it was generations ago.
Getting there
The Funen Village is just a short bus ride from central Odense. Several bus lines stop nearby, and cycling is also a great option if the weather is good.
Bring the family for an autumn holiday filled with activities, cosy moments and living history.
