THE CHRISTMAS HEART – What a Heart Can Hold

The Royal Danish Ballet School in Odense once again presents its annual Christmas performance at Odense City Hall. This year’s production is the poetic dance performance The Christmas Heart – What a Heart Can Hold, inviting the whole family to enjoy an hour filled with dance, Christmas spirit, and storytelling.

Inspired by H.C. Andersen’s Christmas heart
The story is based on H.C. Andersen’s very first woven paper heart – a green and cream-colored heart he created for Mathilde. Today, the Christmas heart is a cherished tradition, hanging in windows, on doors, and on Christmas trees throughout December, often filled with sweet treats.

A performance for all ages
With classical ballet and modern dance at its core, the performance tells a touching story of the heart as a symbol of love, emotion, and togetherness. It captures both the magic of Christmas and moments of reflection – and speaks to both children and adults.
