Word Festival
Odense has a new cultural festival centred on 'the word'. The festival will be one of the largest of its kind in Denmark, with a wealth of experiences in literature, research, entertainment, politics and society.
It all kicks off on 2-4 February 2024, when the festival will take place for the first time and the streets of central Odense will be transformed with up to 200 events that in different ways delve into what moves us and shapes the times.
At Word Festival you can meet international names of the highest calibre and the country's most topical speakers, debaters, writers, opinion formers and cultural personalities. The festival's 200 events will be held at the city's popular cultural venues - including Odeon, Teater Momentum, Kulturmaskinen, H.C. Andersen Museum, Magasinet, Kunsthal, H.C. Andersen Museum, Magasinet, Brandts Museum of Art and Odense Main Library - and in three days you can attend all the events that interest you with a single ticket.
In addition to lectures, conversations, talks and readings, the festival will also offer writing workshops and other interactive cultural experiences, where you as a festival visitor meet "the word" in a changing process. Only your imagination is the limit when interpreting how we meet through language at the Word Festival.
