The City's Squares
The city’s squares are small oases and breathing spaces in the heart of a busy center. The oldest are paved with cobblestones, while the newer ones feature yellow Odense tiles, seen throughout the city. They all invite visitors and locals to pause, sit down, and enjoy the surroundings.

Sortebrødre Torv (Blackfriars Square)
Blackfriars Square is situated right in the historic quarter and twice weekly it hosts a produce market with vegetables, flowers, eggs, fish, cheese and more.

Marking of the original Albani Church
This marker shows the location of the wooden church, St. Albani, where Denmark's last Viking king, Cnut the Holy, was murdered on July 10, 1086.

The Washing Site at Odense River
This is the washing site where Hans Christian Andersen's mother - and indeed many others - did the washing for the upper class citizens.
