Autumn Holiday at the Railway Museum
Looking for family activities during the autumn holiday in Odense? At the Danish Railway Museum, historic trains, play and mysteries take over the old roundhouse. Build your own railway in Duplo Land, take a ride on the miniature train, and explore the museum’s collection of locomotives and carriages.

In Duplo Land, children can let their imagination run free with Duplo tracks, trains, bridges and bricks, creating their own stations, towns and railway landscapes. There will also be creative activities and performances for children during the holiday, with something for both younger and older kids.
When darkness falls, a very different experience awaits. In Murder on the Blood-Red Express, the Berlin Express from 1938 becomes the setting for a murder mystery where the whole family must search for clues, solve puzzles and try to identify the killer. Actors bring the story to life, with challenges for both children and adults.
Between the special holiday activities, there is plenty of time to explore the rest of the Danish Railway Museum. Get up close to impressive steam locomotives, historic railway carriages and other vehicles from Denmark’s railway history. In several places, children and adults can climb aboard and get a sense of how train travel has changed over the years.
Younger children can also explore the world of railways through play at the Children’s Railway Station, and you can round off your visit with a ride on the miniature train around the museum grounds.
