Vietnamese classics, made plant-based

Mộc Chay takes familiar dishes from Vietnamese cuisine and prepares them entirely without animal products. The menu ranges from small plates and soups to noodle and rice dishes, combining ingredients such as tofu, mushrooms and plant-based meat alternatives with vegetables, fresh herbs and flavourful marinades.

You could start with crispy chả giò, Vietnamese spring rolls filled with tofu and vegetables, or fresh gỏi cuốn, also known as summer rolls. For something more substantial, try a bánh mì filled with tofu, char siu-marinated soy protein, plant-based pâté, mushrooms and pickled vegetables.

The menu also features bánh xèo, a crispy Vietnamese pancake, as well as soups such as phở and bún Huế. Mộc Chay also serves a variety of rice and noodle dishes, while the monthly special gives you the chance to discover other dishes from Vietnamese cuisine.

Vegan Vietnamese food in central Odense

Mộc Chay is run by Michala Truong, and the idea behind the restaurant is to give classic Vietnamese dishes a vegan twist. This also means there is no need to search the menu for plant-based options: everything on it is vegan.

The restaurant is located on Nørregade in central Odense, making it easy to combine a meal with a visit to the city centre. You can eat at the restaurant, and most dishes are also available for takeaway. So whether you want to sit down for a meal or take Vietnamese food home with you, Mộc Chay offers both options.

Dogs on a lead are welcome.
