Walk through Viking Age Odense
Viking Age Odense is not confined to museums. Its traces can be found throughout the modern city – beneath streets and squares, in churches and burial sites, and along routes that are still in use today. Along the way, you will encounter stories of Odin, Harald Bluetooth and Canute the Holy, but also of the people who lived, traded and went about their daily lives here as Odins Vi gradually became Odense.

The Viking world stretched far and wide, and Funen offers plenty of opportunities to explore Viking Age sites and artefacts. Visit the Ladby King’s burial ship at the Viking Museum Ladby, the many Viking graves at Langelands Museum, the runestone at Øhavsmuseet in Faaborg, or the reconstructed ancient houses at Odin’s Odense.
