Many things are thrown away and replaced, even though they could be repaired or reused. In Odense, you can buy second-hand goods, get help with repairs and find refurbished electronics. Here are three places that specialise in reuse and repairs.
At multiple locations around Odense city, it is possible to buy from different types of secondhand stores. You can also participate in events where the purpose is to repair used and broken objects, thereby giving them a ‘new lease’ on life. The following places are good examples of this.
Second-hand shop Zirkel
Many of the items taken to recycling centres can still be used by someone else. That is why Odense Renovation created Zirkel, which consists of a second-hand shop and a shared storage facility. In the shop, you can browse furniture, lamps, pictures, frames, porcelain, glassware, ceramics, kitchenware, clothing, books, toys and much more. The selection changes regularly, so there is something new to discover each time you visit.
Zirkel also has a gallery where a different artist exhibits and sells their work each month. Warehouse sales are held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The shared storage facility is available to approved charities and institutions, which can collect second-hand items for their activities.

Repair Café Odense
At Repair Café Odense, you can get help repairing broken items. The team of volunteers provides the expertise and tools you need and helps you take part in the repair yourself. You can bring along smaller electrical appliances, clothing, computers and bicycles, provided the item can be transported to the event.
The monthly events are normally held on the last Sunday of the month from 1 pm to 4 pm, except in December. During the warmer months, they take place at Byens Ø by Odense Harbour, while the winter events are held at Den Lille Genbrugsstation in Kongensgade. Repair evenings are also organised on selected dates. Always check the current event details before setting off.

GreenMind
At GreenMind, you can buy pre-owned smartphones, tablets and computers that have been checked and prepared for a new owner. The company also buys used electronics from private individuals and uses parts from faulty devices when they can be reused in other products.
If you have a phone, tablet or computer that you no longer use, you can sell it to GreenMind at one of its shops or through its website. You can also take electronic devices in for repair. Some repairs are carried out in the shops, while others are sent to GreenMind’s central workshop. This allows electronics that still work or can be repaired to remain in use.
