Magic Days Fantasy Festival
If you love mystery and magic, big knobbly trolls, fairies, tall-hatted wizards and witches, Magiske Dage Odense (Magic Days Fantasy Festival) is an obvious choice for the autumn holiday. The festival is organised by Odense Libraries and draws inspiration from children’s and young adult literature, Nordic mythology and magical worlds found only at the festival.

The festival is best described as a city-wide celebration, with many activities taking place at street level in the open city. The entire city centre is transformed into one big magical world, where battles between good and evil break out spontaneously – and you can join in!
As a rule, you do not need to worry about admission fees, but a few activities require a ticket, advance registration or payment via MobilePay or the festival’s own currency: odinars. You can get your hands on them at Fafner Bank, which has branches around the festival site.
Activities for the whole family
Are you a budding witch or wizard? Then you can make your own wand or brew your first magical potion. If you are ready for more, you can enrol at Nordheim – a magical school like no other.
You can also meet fairies, take a ride on the Unicorn Express, battle huge, powerful monsters or hold a real magical owl. Whatever you are dreaming of this autumn, Magiske Dage Odense is the place to satisfy your craving for magic.
Festival programme
The programme changes from year to year, but every year you can look forward to creative activities where you can, for example, paint your own dragon egg, make a dreamcatcher or create other magical artefacts.
One of the festival’s major highlights is the small and the grand battle. This is where the ultimate clash between good and evil magic takes place – and you decide which side you want to fight for.
There is something for the whole family, so put on your cloak and get ready for a few fun-filled autumn days.
The programme is published in mid-September, and you can find it along with further information at magiskedageodense.dk. You can also follow the festival on Facebook and Instagram, where you are always welcome to ask questions or simply say hello.
A sprinkle of magic in Odense’s urban spaces
Magiske Dage Odense aims to add a sprinkle of magic to Odense. The festival is organised by Odense Libraries with support from Odense Municipality and various sponsors.
The festival is held in collaboration with local partners, Odense’s business community and the festival’s fantastic volunteers. Culture, literature and community are at the heart of the festival, bringing literature to life through interactive activities, participation and play.
