Start your morning right with brunch at Café Fleurí – if you're an early bird, they open at 8 am. Prefer something quick? Drop by the bakery Surdejsbrødet. Both are located on Nørregade, part of Odense’s charming old town.
A boat trip on the Odense River
Did you know the Danish song “Sejle op ad åen” is actually about a boat ride on the Odense River? Boats have sailed here since 1882, when the route was created to take the city’s upper class to Fruens Bøge for a day in the woods. Originally rowboats, they were soon replaced by steamers – and today, electric boats let you enjoy the peaceful nature along the river.
The Funen Village
This open-air museum is located in Fruens Bøge, not far from Aafarten’s final stop. The museum explores rural life in the 19th century through historic buildings, farm animals and stories of everyday life at the time.After visiting the village, enjoy lunch at Restaurant Carlslund, a beloved local spot that's been around since 1871 – about the same time Aafarten began.

Head to the harbour and maybe take a dip in the free harbour bath. Once an industrial port, Odense Harbour has been transformed into a popular gathering place.
