Odense is a great city for a city break. Visit the harbour, the Historic Quarter, our Latin Quarter or - for something completely different - Fruens Bøge (a wooded area by the river in the southern part of the city centre). 2.7 km of high streets mean that you can shop till you drop and cafés and restaurants with outdoor service create a great atmosphere.
If you like a bit of culture with your shopping and café hopping, Odense has lots of interesting attractions for you. Hans Christian Andersen is perhaps the most famous person to come out of Odense and of course we have several museums dedicated to our favorite fairy tale writer.
Did you know that he also liked to create paper art?
If history is more your thing, we have several museums and attractions each with their own specialty from 18th century village life in Denmark to Viking Age in Odin's Odense and Cold War at the Bunker Museum. For art afficionados Brandt's is a must see. The gallery is located in the Latin Quarter and always hosts several exhibitions at once.
Galleries, museums, street art, sculptures - Odense has a bit of everything. Don't miss Brandts Art Gallery or the self-guided fairy tale sculpture walk around the city centre.
